The Fruit of the spirit Sabbath lesson

Introduction:

  • Say Prayer
  • Say 10 commandments
  • Share what you’re grateful for

Word of the day: Desire– A strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen

Ask your children what examples they can tell you of what desire looks like( you can present an example as well)

Read Galatians 5:22-23

Explain what each fruit of the spirit means and ask the child the question about what it looks like as well

Read Galatians 5:19

Explain what each fruit of the flesh means and ask the child the question about what it looks like as well

Overview for children

  • Explain why you need to have the desire to walk in the fruit of the spirit. If you don’t hate what is evil and cling to what is good it’s going to be hard to walk in it.
  • Strive everyday to have a desire to do what is right

Activity: Fruit of Spirit

You will need:

-Construction paper

-Playdoh

-Scissors

-Pencil or pen

-Glue

-Playdoh knife

Pencil, Glue, Construction Paper, Playdoh, Playdoh Knife
Writing the title on paper. It will be the base of the fruits.
Draw fruit to cut out and paste on white paper.
Label each fruit with the fruit of the spirit.
Place the playdoh on the cut-outs to make the fruit.
